Dear Supporters of the “Restoring Friendship” Campaign,
We are grateful for your support of the campaign to rebuild the destroyed friendship center in Tabgha. The campaign has done a wonderful job in transmitting a message of friendship and solidarity, as well as expressing disdain from the behavior of the arsonists. The first to appreciate it are, of course, the monks at Tabgha and Dormition. The echoes of the campaign have extended far and wide across the Christian world, helping offset some of the damage created by the arson.
In the present communication seeks I wish to invite you to various followup activities, including activities not originally planned as perks for the campaign.
- All who contributed to the campaign are invited to a small ceremony in which funds raised for the restoration of the Church will be handed to Abbot Gregory, the abbot at Dormition Abbey, who is also in charge of Tabgha. The ceremony will take place at the Dormition Abbey on Mount Zion, on Wednesday, October 7th, at 6.45 p.m.. The ceremony will focus on the theme of “Jewish-Christian Friendship” and will include talks by Abbot Gregory and Dr. Alon Goshen-Gottstein. Music and refreshments are included in the evening’s program.
- Contributors who contributed 100 shekels will enjoy a guided tour of the Tabgha complex. We are presently scheduling 2 sessions, during Sukkot. The first will take place Wednesday, September 30th, at 10 a.m., and the second the same day at 3 p.m.. The visits will take between 2 and 2 and a half hours. If there is need, we will schedule a third visit for Tuesday, October 6th, at 10 a.m.
- Contributors who have contributed 250 shekels will enjoy a tour of Dormition Abbey followed by a meeting with Abbot Gregory. There are two dates designated for these meetings. The first will take place Friday, October 2, at 10 a.m., and the second on Tuesday, October 20 at 10 a.m.

לכל השותפים בפרויקט שיקום ידידות בטבחה שלום רב,
שוב תודה על תרומתכם ועל השתתפותכם בקמפיין. הקמפיין הצליח הרבה מעבר למשוער, הן מבחינת יעדי גיוס הכספים והן מבחינה חינוכית. הקמפיין הצליח לעורר שיח פנימי, ולהביע מסר של ידידות לעולם הנוצרי. הנזירים של קהילת הדורמיציון (קהילת האם של טבחה) ושל מנזר טבחה אסירי תודה על ביטויי התמיכה והידידות של כל אחד ואחת. הקמפיין גם קיבל תהודה עצומה בעולם הנוצרי, מה שעזר להקל ולו במעט על הנזק שגרמה ההצתה.
במכתב זה ברצוני להזמין אתכם למספר פעילויות המשך בעקבות הקמפיין, ובכלל זה פעילויות שלא תוכננו במקור.
- כל מי שתרם לקמפיין מוזמן לערב בסימן “ידידות יהודית-נוצרית” שיתקיים במנזר הדורמיציון ביום רביעי, ה7 באוקטובר, בשעה 18.45. במעמד זה נמסור לאבוט גרגורי, ראש המסדר, את התרומות שגויסו. אבוט גרגורי ואנוכי נישא שיחות קצרות על נושא הידידות, מן הזוית היהודית והנוצרית. ועל כל אלה ינעמו לנו מוסיקה, כיבוד קל ומפגש חברים.
- כל מי שתרם סכום של 100 ש”ח זכאי לסיור בקומפלקס של טבחה. אנו מתכננים שני מועדים לסיורים, ובמידת הצורך יתקיים גם סיור במועד שלישי. שני הסיורים מתוכננים לחוה”מ סוכות. הראשון יתקיים ביום רביעי, ה30 בספטמבר בשעה 10.00, והשני באותו יום בשעה 15.00. משך הביקור בין שעתיים לשעתיים וחצי. במידת הצורך יתקיים ביקור שלישי בתאריך, יום שלישי, ה6 באוקטובר, בשעה 10 בבוקר.
- מי שתרם 250 ש”ח זכאי לסיור בכנסית הדורמיציון ולמפגש קבוצתי עם האבוט גרגורי. שני מועדים הוקצו למפגשים אלו. הראשון ביום ששי, ה2 באוקטובר בשעה 10.00, והשני ביום שלישי, ה20 באוקטובר בשעה 10.00.
