(Response to 2.C.3 Julian of Norwich, Revelations of Divine Love (or Showings), presented by Philip Sheldrake)
“All shall be well, all shall be well, all manner of things shall be well.” These famous words of Julian of Norwich resonate deeply, and instill in the reader a firm confidence, that indeed, “all shall be well.” We look at the horrific state of our contemporary world, with its violence and structural injustice and suffering on the part of our fellow human beings on so many different levels…and yet in and through this, as one takes a deep breath, finding one’s connectedness with all that breathes, this assuring word wells up from deep within: we are in good hands after all, so we can only trust, as we also strive to do all we can to minimize the suffering in this world. We try, but we keep failing, but nevertheless, we are assured, all shall be well. All manner of things shall be well.
