Participation in local interfaith study sessions

The Elijah Educational Network will offer local monthly interfaith study sessions that enable participants to glean from the wisdom of diverse religious traditions and to apply this wisdom to solving critical social problems locally, nationally and internationally. These sessions will be based on study materials prepared by the Interfaith Academy,  and will be moderated by affiliated Elijah scholars.  Depending on group interest, meetings may be more frequent. The work of the study chapters is envisioned as a multi-year continuing project, solidifying relations within the community and driving participants to collaborate in practical community oriented tasks, that grow out of their shared study experience.

Annual Network Conference

The Elijah Educational Network will sponsor an annual, national Elijah Interfaith Conference to deepen the year long work of the chapters. The conference will bring together network members and affiliates together with members of Elijah's Board of World Religious Leaders and of its Interfaith Academy. The vision of holistic interfaith education expressed in Elijah's threefold organizational structure finds a moment of concrete realization in the annual conference. Network members will learn from leaders and scholars. They will also voice their own concerns and share their insights among themselves and with leaders and scholars. Beyond deepening study and understanding, the annual conference is the appropriate moment for forming coalitions for practical action and for launching national community based initiatives that grow from the study process.

Building a Global Interfaith Community

The Elijah Educational Network will post summaries of local study sessions on its website in order to initiate a global conversation and facilitate collaborative projects among Network members, Academy scholars and affiliated religious leaders worldwide. The Network thus seeks to build a global community of engaged people of different faith traditions who seek to collaboratively improve society through study, mutual understanding and practical action.
